Behavioral Health Integration

Maine Primary Care Association has long been a champion of integrating behavioral health services into primary care settings. We see behavioral health as an important part of comprehensive care. Improving patient outcomes by decreasing high risk behaviors and increasing protective factors like healthier eating and exercise can be achieved when multiple disciplines work together

We have a strong focus on improving access for patients with mental illness, addiction, or co-occurring disorders. We emphasize patient-centered care and sustainable approaches to behavioral health care offered in primary care settings. Through collaboration and a shared vision we are working towards behavioral health services being a central component of the care offered in Maine Community Health Centers

Our behavioral health integration program is augmented by projects with NAMI Maine, the Maine Suicide Prevention Program and the Maine Health Access Foundation
