Join us to learn about the new CMS-HCC (hierarchical condition category) Risk Adjustment Strategy being implemented in 2024. This is a don’t miss event for financial leadership, providers, and coding staff!

In this training, Susan Whittaker, CPC, CPMA, CPC-I, Training & Risk Management Program Manager at Maine Primary Care Association, will conduct a deep dive into how risk scoring is calculated, following the path from the encounter, to claims, to a patient’s risk score using the new Version 28 CMS-HCC Coding methodology. She will explore how the new version differs from the previous Version 24 and how reimbursement may be impacted. Susan will also discuss the medical record documentation necessary to support thorough diagnosis coding, and when that has failed, what violations were unearthed by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Lastly, she will discuss the basics of an HCC Coding Audit Plan to offer providers the support they need.
