“Leading Change for Healthy Communities” BOLD ∞ DISRUPTIVE ∞ COMMITTED
Quick Links:
Every October Maine Primary Care Association holds its largest gathering of the year, the MPCA Annual Conference. Member Community Health Centers gather together with Community Partners and Stakeholders to learn, network and engage with peers from all around the state. This year’s conference seeks to encourage change (disruption) to our traditional measurement of quality improvement and health outcomes by shifting the focus on strengthening a Medical Neighborhood in Maine’s communities. The field of community health is anchored in a rich history of innovations in public health methods and programs; it requires collaboration with community-based organizations and residents to focus on health promotion. For stakeholders in Maine, establishing a shared understanding of community health will help further attainment of healthier communities that are characterized by better health and quality of life for members of the community. There’s no better place to create a shared understanding of community health and lead change than Maine’s robust network of Community Health Centers. Through igniting policy support and environmental changes that promote healthy eating and active living, or through sustaining community engagement in local health issues and training leaders in community health, Maine’s Community Health Centers are strongly positioned to engage community residents and organizations to achieve a shared goal of improving health. CMEs and Category II Dental CEs will be available (pending application approval).
