Please join Maine Primary Care Association for our annual Clinical Education Retreat. This retreat, focused on clinical teams, is an opportunity for health center clinicians to receive specific training in best practices and emerging themes and to network and share ideas with each other.
While the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold and there is still uncertainty around when large, in-person trainings will be safe and feasible, we are now presenting this as a virtual retreat. Sessions will be recorded so that if you have to miss any of the live sessions, you will be able to go back and view the content.
This year our focus will be on Excellence in Clinical Safety, with an afternoon presentation from MeCDC Clinical Advisor Stephen D. Sears, MD, MPH. Dr. Sears will speaking about the current public health landscape in Maine, including emerging infectious disease risks and priorities. There will be a focus on lessons learned from Maine CDC’s experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, and how this has impacted the balance between infection prevention and isolation/mental health exacerbation and how providers can more effectively talk to patients about these issues.
This event will also include sessions from experts in managing complex patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, working with patients to engage in discussions about alcohol use and suicide prevention.
We will finish the day looking at strategies to turn inspiration into action. As a network of clinicians around the state, we will discuss how we can best use our clinical expertise to advocate for systems change.
The fee for this Clinical Education Retreat is $25.
The agenda can be found here.
Target Audience: Clinical Leadership and Clinical Staff.
