Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking an experienced, behavioral health professional to lead PCHC’s Psychotherapy Services .  This is an opportunity to work alongside  the Executive Clinical Director of Behavioral Health in planning, developing, and leading all aspects of PCHC’s Psychotherapy services, and to serve as Clinical Director of PCHC’s Mental Health Access Center.  The Mental Health Access Center serves a vital role within our organization and community, as the  first point of access for clients seeking access to PCHC’s  behavioral health services.

The Associate Director must have a valid LCSW, LCPC or LMFT License in the State of Maine.  Previous clinical and administrative supervision experience is required, along with  at least five (5) years of  independently licensed clinical experience. Experience working with both adult and pediatric populations is also preferred.

Highlights:

  • This position is planned for full-time 40 hours per week, generally Monday – Friday, with a mix of clinical/administrative duties.
  • Both in-person and remote work will be required, and occasional travel between PCHC service sites and practice locations is expected.
  • Leadership responsibilities include coaching and mentoring staff, providing feedback on performance, guidance and support in best practice and professionalism.
    Collaborating with psychotherapy leadership team to assess quality assurance standards for therapists.
  • Helping create and support innovations in the psychotherapy department that will sustain quality of care for patients and quality clinical support for staff.
  • In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Associate Clinical Director will perform direct patient care up to 50 percent of the time.
