Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking an Associate Director of Walk-in-Care (ADWIC). This opportunity offers a well-balanced clinical/administrative role for an experienced primary care provider and leader.   Physicians, NPs and PAs with at least 2 years of experience in a health care setting are welcome to inquire.

Reporting to the Director of Walk-in-Care, the ADWIC will perform direct patient care as well as identified administrative tasks for the Walk-In-Care service line, and provide a leadership presence at PCHC’s five Walk-in-Care (WIC) Clinics.

The position is planned for full-time, 40 hours/5 days per week. It calls for an energetic, empathetic leader whose passion for quality and collaboration in support of PCHC’s mission will support building strong relationships, modeling desirable behaviors.

You will provide a leadership presence and be seeing/treating patients daily in the PCHC Walk-in-Care settings; as ADWIC, you will join the senior leadership team alongside Medical Directors and, Executive Division Directors throughout the organization to further PCHC’s clinical, systems and organizational objectives.

Leadership Highlights:

Work with WIC clinical leads and operations staff to ensure timely scheduling and appropriate WIC staffing
On-site leadership presence per a schedule at all five WIC locations (Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for insurance purposes required)
Fill in when Director of WIC is unavailable
Audit charts and provide feedback on quality and performance metrics
Assist the Director with:

Implementing policies and procedures applicable to WIC and Primary Care
Piloting/scaling any new patient-facing technology applicable to WIC
Recruiting, onboarding and training of all new WIC hires, residents and students rotating in WIC

Care Setting Highlights:

Encounter the full gamut of medical conditions- from acute illness to chronic disease
Remote work is limited to non-clinical work
Common WIC procedures include suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses, removal of soft tissue foreign bodies, closed reduction of simple fractures and dislocations, splinting
Dynamic collaborative environment
Synchronous clinical support during all hours of operation
Very manageable volume
Opportunities to work in other PCHC Walk-in Care locations, but not required
