DESCRIPTION:Quick Links:\nRegistration \nBack-to-school season is here\, and we’re kicking it off with an informative session for School-Based Health Centers. This one-hour program begins with an introduction to VitalCare for Kids—the new name for MaineCare’s Early Periodic Screening\, Diagnosis & Treatment (EPSDT) program. \nVitalCare for Kids is designed to ensure that children and youth under 21 receive timely screenings\, care\, and the support they need to thrive. In the second half of the session\, we’ll highlight practical strategies to help School-Based Health Centers strengthen communication and advocacy—building stronger connections with students\, families\, school staff\, and community partners through clear\, meaningful\, and effective engagement. \nKey Learning Objectives: \n\nExplore how VitalCare for Kids (EPSDT) can and cannot be used;\nIdentify the overall requirements for services to be covered\, and the Prior Authorization (PA) process;\nLearn how to bill for VitalCare for Kids (EPSDT) approved services;\nDiscuss the importance of telling the story of your SBHC through communications and advocacy;\nIdentify best practices for communications and marketing; and\nReview important considerations for FQHCs engaging in advocacy.\n\nTarget Audience: School-based health Center staff\, clinical staff\, billing & coding staff. \nFor more information\, contact Megan Cross: mcross@mepca.org or (207) 707-5112.
